I purchased my Ka-Bar Wart Hog from the px in San Mateo, Camp Pendleton Ca. I used it in Iraq and here at home. I have literally cut down 4" trees with it as well as string. It has been the greatest purchase I have ever made. I recently broke it at the handle while using a a rock to chisel away slivers of pine knott for a survival scenario. Love it Buying a new one , but the sheath looks cheap. Maybe it will fit in my old sheath...

Excellent Weapon!! One of the best blades I've ever owned!! The balance is superb, and when thrown; this knife hits like a brick!! I would highly recommend this weapon to any serious knife collector. From pommel to blade tip, this knife earns every star available and more.

You want a knife that FEELS tough?! You want a knife for almost any outdoor task? This is absolutely it. I (the CEO of Survivors Edge) use to brag about the Cold Steek machette I take on my Central America trips. Great tool! Great quality. I changed to this one because it is more concealable, packs with a smaller footprint, and has a tip that can be used for combat/self defense. Sure, you could do the same with a machette, and even have a longer reach (which is absolutely a big deal), but this is a great combination of knife, hammer and machette or Gurka-mini in one. These are just my opinions. Bottom line, we LOVE this Ka-Bar.

I own this knife, and it owns me!! I've many KBAR knives, but this carries with me as a companion to the heavy machete (khukri). When I bivouack, this sleeps right next to me, and in close proximity.
So good is this knife, with a recurve that's all anyoine could ask for, that when asked by other trekkers or campers how I like "it"; I tell them I left my wife so as to not have to share my time with anyone but my faithful warthog.
The only thing this knife won't do is turn lead to gold. Other than that, you're good to go - and I might add; to the far reaches of the earth or the highest peak.
If you've money for only one KBAR - THIS IS IT !!!!!
Be sure to place this knife in your will, because as long as you don't abuse it, it's going to outlast you. See U 'round the wilderness just like a donut!!
As for the rating: Not five stars - make it ten at the very least!!

I love the new revision to the Warthog. I carry two for my every fay carry. I have another five put up around the house, truck, and boat. I was just wondering what happened to the leather wrapped handles and circular butt caps? Those are synonymous with Ka-Bar, I would ask for a model with those features as well? Then I'll have to buy another five. The new grips are big and comfortable. When I first took it out of the box I honestly started looking for a place to mount a tac light, but after about a few minutes of getting a feel for the blade it became a second nature, and the learning curve on throwing is less than most large blade knives, but I learned on Marine issue Ka-Bars.

Wow. Much heavier and bigger than expected. A complete bad-ass knife! Blade and handle are just huge. Blade is thick and decently sharp out of the box. The handle is solid and easy to get a firm grip. I'm going to buy another one.

I have studied martial arts for many years, and I own many weapons. When I first touched my Warthog, it blew me away!! Superb balance and grip. Nice and hefty, yet it moves like a serpent. Cant ask for a better blade in combat.
