This heavy-duty chopper gets it's shape from it's older sibling, the Kukri Machete. At about 80% the size of the larger version, the Combat Kukri performs just as well at clearing brush and small tree limbs. It's smaller profile makes it a little easier for toting around - at just shy of a pound, it's a more appropriately sized tool for combat carry as well.
Made in the USA.

this thing is AMAZING it came razor sharp and after minor chopping use on some wood still just as sharp. it is also great for stabbing, took it to some old blue jeans and this thing ripped them to pieces. About to go camping with it and no worries for me. Another great knife from Kabar!
Great knife don't think just buy you wont regret it. It chops through small trees with ease.
Another great Amermican made K-Bar knife/Kukri, well made, cuts and chops very well. Although the sheath is made in China it is well designed and made. Has an added compartment to hold another smaller knife and sharpening stone I already have in my collection. They do make a cheaper version available at aroud $90 but it is made in China, I paid the extra money to purchase this version to support our fellow Americans who made the knife. As all their knives should be made here in the USA, yes the $90 version may better fit the budget, wait and save up enough money to purchase this one. Support the USA!!!! Thanks K-Bar.
I just received my Combat Kukri, and had a chance to try it out cutting an access to a discharge pipe in an area of dense small saplings, dead branches and tanglefoot. It exceeded my expectations and cut through all this with ease. It feels good in your hand, with a handle swell that really allowed you to control the knife at all times, and by just letting the knife do the work, nearly effortless on 1-3 inch limbs and branches. It is light weight...but with plenty of mass to do the job. I really only had to clear a path for 1 human, but in a short time, I cleared one big enough to back a truck up to. I have read a lot of reviews that the sheath was sub par, but I personally like the sheath alot. You can put the knife in either way, its molle compatable, It has 2 auxillary pockets....one of which is a sheath for a smaller knife, which I have put an Acheron 5699BP (Which is a perfect fit), and a small sharpening rod and magneseum irestarter, and I like the retaining strap. Both sheaths are plastic inside of the heavy duty polyester so it should last forever, and it looks good to me. I would highly recommend this knife, as it is a great tool, and great looking ... styled as a Kurkha knife....I would recommend the lightweight Acheron as an auxillary knife for the auxillary sheath as well.
