I bought this knife in mid August this year, and went to the Oregon coast with a friend of mine. We brought our KA-BARs, these knives are excellent. That trip was the perfect way to get to know my knew blade. We cut down a couple small dead trees and built a shelter with them. This knife is truly amazing. I plan to keep it for the rest of my life. I have no doubt the it will last 2 more lifetimes.

You can't beat a classic—except to update it with modern materials, and this knife does that beautifully.
This is my camp/survival knife. I'm not that big into bushcraft, but I can say that when I missed the pickup day for my Christmas tree, my KA-BAR made short work of turning said tree into dumpster-sized sticks. (If anything, I spent more time oiling it clean of pine sap than doing the actual chopping.)
There are plenty of great general-purpose, fixed-blade knives out there, but this ranks among the best. You just can't go wrong with it.

I got this knife yesterday and I absoutly love it. Great feel, sharp out of the box, sturdy. The first thing I did with this knife is chop down a tree. With probably 15 swings it was down. The grip I think is leather but I'm not sure. Its kind of rubbery and it gives a really nice grip to it when your cutting down a tree. You hand doesn't slip off eithor. So yeah, waited 5 days for it and its worth the wait--and the price. I will be a returning customer.

If you are looking for a knife that has function, utility, and also "get ready for a fight you dont want." then this is that knife. Knife weight is perfect, grips are well balanced for any hand size. Its also a very beautiful piece. One to hold, admire, and respect.

i've used for a while now and it's great. my favorite get-to knife. never leave without it. if KA-BAR is reading this, i'm hoping they change two things to this knife: 1) the guard -- make it curve blade-ward, not handle-ward. it kinda hurts my hand once in a while. 2) for the pommel, use machined metal instead of powdered metal. i've seen A LOT of this knife's pommels busted while hammering stuff. machined metal please!
other than that, this is a great knife. answers to all my challenges and it does well.

This was my first fixed blade knife I got it a few months ago on my 15th birthday and I love it I have used it for everything from camping and hiking to everyday home use it is just a great knife. It comes with a super sharp blade and it holds it well. I have the plastic sheath and that is also great this is going to be with me forever since I believe it will last forever.

I've have this knife for 6 years now, and it continues to be my go to, its skinned and quartered deer, gone through bones and all. It holds and edge better than my kitchen chefs knife. it never leaves me hanging

I have owned this knife for 3+ years, and I must say that I have confidence that it would last the rest of my life if I needed it to. Like every grunt out there, I have used it for everything: cutting, hacking, prying, awling, hunting, gutting, tree felling, wood splitting, and can opening.
When opening the cans in the field, I used the drop-point blade on the lid face up and tapped the heel of the knife, using the curvature of the blade to cut through the sheet metal. This cost me some of the black powder coat, but it is merely an aesthetic concern - as I bring oil in my repair kit anyway.
A knife of this quality is the most critical piece of survival gear there is.

I have had/abused this knife for 14 years and its still awesome. I've paid alot more for alot less when it comes to knives. When I go to the woods my custom knives stay home. My kabar goes because it's light, tough, and sharp. It's the 30-06 of knives ( all others are compared to it ) and for good reason. Why spend $300 for a knife thats as good?
