The Baconmaker® is the most aggressive in the Adventure® knife line. The original was built for a friend in the Special Operations community and designed for sticking things, with no concern of it ever breaking. The spirit of that design comes through in the Baconmaker®. With a 7-1/8" 1095 Cro-Van recurve blade, it has Persian influence and is built to provide a very ergonomically sound underhand thrust. The recurved blade also cuts exceptionally well in slashing situations. This knife goes through boar shields like the proverbial hot knife through butter; we tried it. The handle is large enough for the biggest hands, but designed to fit smaller hands as well and gives the average hand multiple methods of manipulating the knife. The handle is textured with our new Adventuregrip™.

Very ice design. Firm in the hand. The blad is extremely sharp. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship that went into this knife. The only thing I would like to see is some different handle material options. A Micarta or g10 handle would be awesome !
Just got this knife for Christmas. Steve Johnson is actually my cousin, so I was hoping I could support the family a little bit. But I fell in love with it right out of the box. I originally wanted the potbelly, but I'll save up and buy that one. For the time being, this beast is going everywhere with me. Razor sharp (my thigh got the short end of the stick on that deal) so be very careful. The sheath has excellent storing capacity and it comes with the Piggyback, which is just perfect for skinning. Great choice for anyone.
Just got my baconmaker today and have to say overall I'm very impressed with the design. I've reprofiled the already sharp edge and the cro van steel is excellent. Ka Bar never stops amazing me with their heat treating capabilities. However the main short coming of this knife is the zytel handle. A cheap choice that does nothing but take away from the character of the knife. I've already started a batch of micarta that will take the place of the cheap zytel immediately. Otherwise great knife!!
