This knife is by far the best built knife I have ever owned. You could pound stakes with the butt end and carve a spear with the other. It feels solid as a rock in my hand and I had no problem field dressing my first deer with it even with the handle covered in blood I had no problem gripping it. I would not hesitate to buy another one for a friend because I will never need another for myself unless I lose it.
This my favorite knife and my EDC. I modified the leather sheath and made it into an IWB which fits nicely into the small of the back. I use it for everything and would trust my life to one. Made in the U.S.A. there is no better product for your money. Thanks
Superior ,made in the USA !Wow
this is a fantastic knife! strong, durable, reliable, and it takes a good edge. i carry it by my side where ever i go, i take it hunting, camping, fishing, hiking, even to the groucery store. i love this knife and i carry it with pride! although im a soldier in the army and not a marine, i still carry and love this knife. KA-BAR; i think you should make a knife for the Army that i know would be better than the current issued knife, the Gerber LMF 2.
Having smaller hands, this knife is a comfortable fit and being less conspicuous, it's more convenient for EDC than the full size version. 1095 steel takes an edge fairly well and tends to retain it under reasonable use. That being said, the edge on mine was very disappointing. It was MOSTLY straight, but the grind is so coarse that you can see the scratch pattern from three feet away and it isn't anywhere approaching anything you could call sharp. Luckily I have professional sharpening equipment and can fix this, but I shouldn't have to. Ka-bar knives have a deep history. They're attractive and good, solid pieces of steel, but a dull edge right out of the box is unforgivable for such a celebrated brand.
