This is a pretty great knife. Perfection, it is not. The blade does have some belly for a tanto, which is nice, and comes plenty sharp. The coating on the blade is almost like a powder coat. First complaint is the paint is already chipping, after very little work. Not heavy enough to be a great chopper, but it will suffice for the job. The hook on the end of the tang crushes your fingers when chopping, gloves would be a good idea. the grip is nicely contoured, but the texturing is more for looks than anything, along with the jimping. The serations are more like scalopping, as they arent pointed enough for harder use. Over all, the knife is secure and strong. the blade has a nice shape, and you wont loose grip on the handle. Becuase it comes with a secondary skinning knife, and a sheath, with a decent pricepoint, this knife is definately cool to have, even if its not the best Kabar out there.
I bought this knife early this year. I took it hog hunting where we use dogs and knives to kill boars. It was a great tool in a adriline packed moment. It cut through flesh and rib bones with ease. The hook on the handle really gave a secure grip while pulling the knife out. The finish is a little brittle but over all a great addition to my collection.
I just got this knife and i wasn't very impressed with it,one thing i did not like was the handle is like a plastic witch slips out of my hands, when chopping.
I bought this knife because its cool. Not for any practicality. I'm very happy with it.
I've had my famine tanto for 3 years now and love it it'll do most bushcraft and camp chores no problem but I feel this knifes calling is as an urban survival knife it'll cut anything break glass and can be used as a pry bar for doors windows you name it and the saw teeth will chew through anything this thing is awesome and the price is very fair for this do it all urban survival tool
I love the the knife. The finger well is a bit big but you can choke up on the blade if you need to.
