first impressions. for the price it is a nice package. it comes with an extra set of scales and a smaller blade. now for the bad part. the knife i received was very dull which is not a big deal but considering the name on the blade you would think you are getting nothing but the sharpest of knives. one of the bigger disappointing things of this blade is the fact that it is made in TAIWAN . shame shame. i do however wish the smaller blade came with a sheath of its own. all in all not a bad buy and still a great package for the price. i still would have given this review five stars if it would have been ''made in usa''
i def, agree with the first review, i was so upset with the fact that it has a huge stamp in TAIWAN, but other wise, i am in the air force, and just went though s.e.r.e. school an wish i went with this knife, lenght, and durability, and the name ka-bar that i trusted from marines, if you guys makes one in the u.s, as aircrew in the airforce, i would much appreciate it. great knife and shealth
Love the knife! No idea what the other comments about the knife being dull are about? My knife is extremely sharp! Love the fact it comes with a nice sheath that fits the knife itself and the smaller one too! Knife looks and handles flawlessly. (if only there were a few zombies to lob heads off of)
wow just got this knife a month ago and took it camping last week. This thing has great balance (for chopping) and is super sharp i absolutely love this knife but i am a little sad it isn't made in the U.S. but oh well, it is still by far the best knife i have ever owned.
Mine has a large made in USA stamp and its awesome. Took mine camping and used it to baton. Love this knife . Might want to re grind the blade its a little steep. mine is sk5 Steele and I really like it, really easy to sharpen but holds an awesome edge. the sheath is great holds my lighter and extra cord. Looking to get the swabbie next.
I wish I would have e waited to buy mine instead of right 2hen these were first introduced. I believe the first run of these knives were made in Taiwan. The handles don't have the extra hand guard on the base, the Taiwan knife handle is just 8n the shape of the scales only. With that being said, it is still a good quality knife to have & holds a great edge
The knife is superb, the sheath is a catastrophe. Too much stuff sacks, too much neon green for military use(for civilian applications, it's actually very good.) too many bells and whistles. Such a sheath, holding a big knife like this will shift around and feel much heavier than it really is. It'll also snag on brush and obstacles. Lace it to a pack, different story. Belt carry is going to be a a pain. Put a bunch of junk in these sacks, it'll be even worse. It'll also rattle like crazy. People throw a lot of shade on the Acheron knife-not so fast! Useful for many small jobs in the pocket knife range-try picking a splinter out with one of the bigger knives. A very handy thing to have along. I own and have used most of the knives in this series(the Chop Stick was discontinued before I could buy one!) and find that if you carry the sheathed knife in your hand, all is well. Hang it on your belt, you'll be sorry. Of course, taking it to a Zombie Shoot will amuse others, and it'll be very useful as a camp knife(sorry, there are no zombies, folks). Just remember, these are dangerous toys. I live in a city neighborhood that was semi-abandoned for some years, I get to do a lot of brush cutting in my back yard. These knives are indeed your huckleberry for that! Buy one or more-you can't have mine. But oh, can we have some practical sheaths? (the rating is based on the sheath, the knives get four stars plus)
I have a KA-BAR War Sword. I love it. It's awesome I see no problem with my War Sword. I have several KA-BAR knives and love all of them they are all awesome. I use them for hunting camping hicking and all outside. KA-BAR is awesome.
