  - My grandfather bought this knife probably in the 1940's. It is now mine and I am 70 yrs old. The words, "CARBON KA-BAR CHROME" are on the blade. The original leather sheath needs a retaining loop. A true keeper.

  - I have had my hunter for a year now. My 1232 has fished, hiked,and camped more than it hunts. I love the way it holds an edge. I chose this knife for the 4" blade, which is as about as long as i find useful for my purposes. I am impressed with the knifes ability to hold an edge.

  - What a great knife. Took it with me hunting and used it to skin a deer with. The shape of the blade works perfectly for this. It even works great for butchering the meat up. Works just as good on smaller game as well. I've used it to clean and prepare trout. I had to buy my daughter one so she would quit taking mine. It kept it's edge through the whole process of skinning and preparing the deer. This is a must have for hunting.

  - I hate to be a Debi downer here because I've always loved these knives and wanted one since I was a child, I regretfully went with the hunter instead of the traditional USMC 1 with the wooden handle and partially serrated edge of possible but I went with the Hunter edition and no matter how much I sharpen it I can't get it a good sharp edge and it's left me feeling very frustrated, I stick with bench made now after my first purchase, I was very hesitant about the price but took a chance and now I have purchased 5 total 1 being a gift for my dad, currently their lifesharp program is taking care of my favorite blade and I preach their quality like the holy gospel

The blade cuts with very little effort and holds its edge better than I had hoped it would.
