  - It would've got five stars if it was made in the US . Very happy with the hawk hatchet the hatchet came with an edge to it especially having a 55° angle, which will save the cutting edge from damage . The price you can't beat I would've gladly paid $15-$20 more if it was made in the US.

  - Why KA-BAR decided to put a plastic handle on this product is beyond me. There is no cushion when chopping. So don't expect to do a lot of it over extended periods. Expect to get your sharpening stones or grinding wheel ready. It comes dull as a butter knife. Other than that it does a good enough job to be included in your camp equipment.

  - Got my hatchet hawk and it was fairly sharp out of the box. A little work with my sharpener and it was good to go. Weight is good and while this isn't an Olean NY manufactured item I think it does it's job for the price. Solid piece of steel think this will last and do it's job. It's not an RMJ or high end hawk but for $43 it's worth throwing in the truck.
