Knife-making has woven its way throughout Bob Dozier's life. His interest first began when, as a boy, he learned from his grandfather how to forge files and springs into useable knives. For much of his young adult life, he made and sold knives that were well-recognized for their quality, hardness and edge holding ability. Thirty years after first making knives in a manufacturing setting, Dozier came to KA-BAR with a large side lock folding prototype. Working with KA-BAR's team to modify the knife design for practical large scale production, the Dozier Thorn was finalized for sale at the end of 2001. Today, KA-BAR offers eighteen Dozier designed products and work is continually underway to develop the next great collaboration.

      • This is the first folding knife I have ever had. I researched and saw several reviews of different knives before deciding. I definitely do not regret having acquired it. I was looking for a low cost and good performance knife, after several days investigating I came across this beauty. The factory edge is decent (Not the best but fulfills its basic purpose.) Despite having a plastic handle is very resistant and lightweight. Its low price means that you can use it without fear, contrary to an expensive knife, which you would try to take care of and not expose it to hard work. I recently took her to a professional sharpener and she told me that the steel was pretty good and decent. Once my knife was sharpened I was surprised by the performance it has now (Much better than the one I had in the factory). If what you are looking for is a pocket knife that does not fear losing, damaging or being confiscated and that offers excellent benefits for its price, this is your pocket knife. I'm going for a year of use and it's still new. It is an excellent knife for urban use: open boxes, cut pills, open packages, cut fruit, open sacks. I do not usually go camping so I can not tell you their performance, but I'm sure it would perform quite well. The clip is very comfortable and it shows that it is an excellent product. The blade may not be fully centered, but it's something you can solve with a screwdriver and a little patience, but it really is not something that affects you. 100% recommended
