  - Comes sharp out of the box and has good edge retention. I have owned this knife now for 9 years and have abused it on every camping trip I've gone on. It cuts, its hacks and it digs and it splits wood. A quick hone with the stone and it puts it right back into service and ready for the next round of abuse. I expected nothing less from Ka-Bar and this knife delivered.
