Gunny Knife

Designed by R. Lee Ermey, also known as "The Gunny". This was the last project The Gunny worked on before his passing in 2018. Created to be used in any and all terrains and situations. A portion of sales of the Gunny Knife will be donated to TAPS, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. TAPS provides comfort, care and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one. Please note "Blade Guard Paste" is only included in the initial run of Gunny Knives and may not come with your knife.

  Marine. Actor. Knife Designer. Patriot. R. Lee Ermey, also known as "The Gunny", was a US Marine for 11 years. After his time in the Marine Corps, Ermey began his second career as an actor, most notably as the iconic Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the movie Full Metal Jacket. Ermey was in over one hundred productions, including Apocalypse Now, Seven, Full Metal Jacket, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and countless others. Ermey was active in supporting the US Military his entire life, visiting deployed soldiers and Marines deployed as well as around the United States. The Gunny Knife was R. Lee Ermey's last project before he passed away on April 15, 2018.

  - The Gunny was a man that lives on through his work. This is without a doubt, one of the chief beauties of film. That said, he is a Marine and was before ever acting. A man that was entertaining while also being clearly real. This knife, to me, is indicative of the reality of the man. It is beautiful and worthy of being in a movie---almost has a prop like appearance to it, from a distance. But, that notion fizzled away from the first moment I handled it. Strong and extremely well made while also being exceptionally functional----I trust this based upon my use of several KA-BARs through the years----all made of the same basic 1095 cr o-van steel. Consistently tough stuff that sharpens easy. That established, I'll never use the knife. It will be passed down to one of my kids. The time in between, taken out to show to friends and admire all while sharing stories of the man. God bless you R. Lee Ermey. Now and always!
