  - For $50, this hunk of steel is a steal. . Got 3 of these for my boys, so they can have a good chopper. I was surprised how sharp they were. To be honest, I was expecting to have to do some work on the blade. The sheath was the only thing that needs some work, but I'm not putting 4 stars just for the sheath. . Solid piece of camping gear.

  - I finally ordered one of these and am so glad I did. I will definitely be ordering a few more. I am not a collector but this would make an incredible gift, especially for $45. This thing is MUCH larger than I expected and the blade is extremely thick. This is almost like a short sword. I love the Zombie grips as well. This is a lot of knife for the money. I dont know what the use case is for this sort of tool but it is very cool and extremely high quality. I am tempted to go buy some watermelons or pineapples just to chop in half.

  - One heck of a nice cleaver. Mine arrived hair splitting sharp. I like the Toxic Green grips and it also comes with a set of black. I put the black set on my Baconmaker, as it was wearing off color brown. I asked Kabar to make sure mine was hair splitting sharp and it arrived just as I requested. Love the pebble grain texture on the scales, makes for a slip-free grip. I give this cleaver 5 stars.

  - A unique knife with "a very particular set of abilities" for you. Mating a 10.25" razor sharp dead straight full flat ground 20 degree edge with more mass than a heavy duty framing hammer creates a unique tool with serious power. It has unique capabilities and should be used in ways to take advatage of it's strengths. It will do any heavy knife cutting tasks easily if it's weight is accomodated. In cases where more coaresly ground blades like axes or choppers require large high speed chopping motions to cut, this blade will cut as cleanly and precisely as a well sharpened chisel, perhaps with a few light taps on it's quarter inch wide spine. Think of operations like cleaving cleanly, refining a roughly cut surface, flattening stock to form a joining surface or working surface. It's a combination of precision and considerable power to be used judiciously. This is not a tool to be flailed about wildly with questionable control. Careless users WILL NOT HAVE SMALL ACCIDENTS with misuse. If you are one of those, best pack a tourniquet in the accessory pouch on the sheath. Smart users enjoy a unique and well made tool that you will probably bequeath to your favorite, smartest heir. It seems a great tool to explore cool thing like green wood furniture making (like our ancestors perfected centuries ago). That's way beyond cooler then plain old bushcrafting!

  - This is my coconut machete. I have bought multiples of this and the war sword model and given them as gifts. This is a short heavy machete. It is best used, in my opinion, on harder media like wood and, of course, coconuts. If you're looking for a classic light machete for cutting grasses and such, I'd recommend you look elsewhere, as there are better choices.

  - This knife is a monster! Exactly what I was looking for. It can be used for chopping limbs, kindling, or just about anything an outdoorsman would need. It is razor sharp. I liked it so much I bought a second for a buddy of mine who said "that'll chop a lot of pork butt." For $45 you would be crazy not to get you one.

  - For $45 this blade is a deal. The 1095 Cro-Van steel it's made of isn't the greatest steel, but it's not the worst either. It'll rust really easy, but they've covered this issue by coating the steel so rust SHOULDN'T be an issue now just watch moisture on the edge. It has a good weight feel in the hands & it comes very sharp. This steel should hold a decent edge & sharpen easily. It's got a good amount of material in the blade so chopping & hacking with this is a breeze.

  - I give this one high marks as an all-around chopper. I've used this blade for cutting parasite vines off of trees and clearing trail overgrowth and it does the job well on green wood up to calibers of 3-4" at which point my arbor chainsaw takes over. If I could only have one of the three current Ka-Bar clearance priced choppers this would be the one to buy. It's a great value at this low price. Takes and holds a shaving quality edge. Wish the scabbard was more MOLLE friendly.

  - This came razor sharp and can do a plethora of things. Everyone needs a chopper like this, whether it be for chopping meat, cutting up kindling, cutting paracord, whatever. This thing can do the job! I immediately ordered a second as soon as I opened it. $45 is an awesome deal for a knife like this. Also, Kabar ships things extremely fast.

  - Hell of a chopper. Came razor sharp took it outside and tried it on some green trees about 2 or 3 inches around. Ate through them like it was angry no blade damage and still sharp. Comfortable in the hand despite the weight the thing is built like a tank you would have to put in some real work to damage it appreciably. You'll know if you miss what you swing at with all that weight but thats inevitable for something built so sturdily.

  - Absolute beast of a knife for the clearance price! Box clearly says "Knife made in USA," and the sheath is surprisingly good quality; it's a semi-rigid sheath with a plastic liner. The Bad- it's heavy. Yes, that's all I can come up with and I'm a massive, yet not wealthy, knife snob. I suppose if I need to or should leave constructive criticism, the free knife is much smaller than it's dimensions had me expecting and the handle will HAVE TO be wrapped. It's tiny. Absolutely nothing some paracord can't fix or, if I get bored/fidgety I may try to make a set of scales for it out of some white ash that's otherwise firewood. And it's made in China. But c'mon, it's a free knife and the chopper alone is worth full price as it is! The Good- IT. IS. A. BEAST!! It makes a standard machete feel like a toy, it's shaving sharp out of the box, and leaves me absolutely NO doubt it would cleave the ever-living *insert your favorite word here* out of anything in it's path but still manages to feel balanced, controllable, and nowhere near as forward-heavy as I had expected. It feels awesome in my hands! While not exceptionally "beefy," my hands outstretched are large; almost 9 3/4" from pinky to thumb and the handle does NOT feel small. Not one bit. In fact, it almost feels on the large side (likely because I'm used to 'normal-sized' knives, but my EDCs are a Gerber 06 Tanto and a full Ka-Bar. For reference, to me, the former seems good and steady in my hand, the latter is just about perfect by production knife standards). Handle-wise, I will figure out what form of Paracord wrist lanyard feels best/works best/gets caught up the least (you don't want to lose your trip on this mid-swing. You just don't) and call it good. I'm no expert, but I have been fiddling, working with, and customizing my own kit for a little over 25 years now. I've sold or traded (or had stolen) almost as many as I still own from Swiss Army to Cutco kitchen knives to other Ka-Bar products to Gerbers to CRKTs to more random, generic, hit and miss quality. THIS chopper is now my #1 go-to if/when I want more , hands down.han my Ka-Bar. Especially considering their clearance price, that it comes with an extra set of black scales (and mounting hardware!), and everything green can either be easily dyed, scraped and hidden with a partial re-coating, be engraved over, or is already on the back side of the sheath, if you want a zombie killer/bug-out bag/or large carry knife, I would recommend graciously parting with your already-depreciating currency and buy one before they sell out!

  - I purchased the Zomstro for my husband for Christmas. He LOVES it! The weight is impressive. It has a thick tang with a nice pommel which fits the hand ergonomically. Feels really comfortable and solid to hold in the hand. This is a very heavy knife with a thick tang and everything about it feels solid. My husband collects knives, and he doesn't have anything like this. I chose it because it's a unique shape, and the green is kinda novel. I think this will appreciate in value over time if Ka Bar makes them for a limited time. I'm not sure if that's the plan, but I think so. It comes with black scales as well, in case you want to swap them out. It also came with a large canvas sheath, and a small skeleton knife. Pretty good deal.

It really feels like a very high quality blade, you won't be disappointed. Can't say enough good things about it.
