The knife is accessed by pulling the spork in opposite directions from each extreme end. **Hint--avoid gripping the flat panel area in the middle of the Spork--this is actually part of its lock. The tighter you hold here, the more difficult it will be for you to pull out the knife!**

The Spork is 6.875" overall and has a blade length of 2.5". It weighs 0.1 lb.

  - 2.5 * out of 5. I guess you can make them work, but the tips to pick up the food are huge. I own another set of chopsticks that are maybe 1/3 of the size. I know this isn't kabar L's wheelhouse, but I expected better because of the name.

  - I have to disagree with the other reviewer that says Canadians are fat. I myself know many fine healthy weight Canadians. Furthermore, if you really think about it, the Canadian Fatness Epidemic could actually be halted if you gave everyone these chopsticks. The challenge associated with using chopsticks would slow their caloric intake sufficiently to bring everyone down to within their BMI range. So I would like to applaud KA-BAR for developing and releasing a health saving, and indeed a life saving, product eh? I also take exception to the comment that you can't kill a bear with chopsticks. Chopsticks are actually the primary bear-mitigation choice for many, actually most, wildlife management professionals as well as hunting enthusiasts.

  - I have several pairs of these in my collection. These are definitely my favorite's. I have use a lot of chopsticks and these work the best. Some of the others I have are too small in diameter or too short.

  - I have used these chopsticks for a couple years and they are absolutely my favorite. They are strong, tough, functional and sturdy. You can dishwash these, leave them in the sink overnight, etc., etc.. These are great! Might be a bit of a challenge for smaller hands (I wear L/XL gloves).

  - Greetings, This idea merits the price of the worst idea of the year. Your compagny earn his popularity by making knives for war. Do you he killed a bear with chopsticks. If you want innovation try camping, hiking, outdoor fun. People eat and get metabolic syndrome. 60% of all canadians are overweigt, do you want that situation worsens?   - These chopsticks are outstanding! I have used many different shapes & styles of chopsticks that were made from different materials. These are by far my new most favorite! Using a pair along with a tactical spork (for the meat & green bean casserole) I just successfully, & very happily, navigated Thanksgiving dinner. They're very easy to hold & use. They're light & a good overall size.
