  - Love the blade and grip. Well balanced and feels good in the hand. Good edge from factory. The sheath though. The loop is above the blade grip, not below it and is made with super soft leather compared to the rest of the sheath. It rides low on the hip and even with a 1.5 inch Hanks carry belt is hard to draw without pushing the sheath off because of how much flop is in the leather for the belt strap. Point of personal preference, I would have liked a less pointed sheath.

  - I really like this knife. I was looking for something traditional: a simple hardwood handle, leather sheath, and good steel. It feels good in the hand. Although I thought I might prefer a 4 inch knife, as I do with my other knives, the 5 inch length here seems to suit the feel and use of the knife. My only complaint thus far is the handle scales. They came a bit rough, and when I took off the scales, I noticed some small pitting around the front edges of the knife as well as some slight splintering in places. I've sanded the scales with some 800 and 2000 grit sandpaper which has improved the feel of the handle. I also plan to apply some tung oil. I expected more at the price point and the reputation of the brand. I would consider buying the micarta handle scales if they came in a darker color.

  - The knife itself is everything I wanted sharp out of the box, wooden handle, traditional look but the sheath is cheap for the high price tag I expected more from Kabar.

  - I just took it out of the box today (Christmas), so this review is based only on first impressions, but let me say that those first impressions are very good. The fit and finish of the knife and sheath are excellent. EXCELLENT. It's a beautiful, stout, perfectly-ground blade, and the walnut handle scales are smooth, perfectly aligned, and look like select-grade wood. It feels great in my hand, and I can't wait to put it through its paces, the way God and Horace Kephart intended. The sheath fits the knife perfectly, and is nicely constructed with thick, supple leather, dyed an attractive brown color, but otherwise unfinished, so it doesn't have that plasticky look a lot of cheapo leather sheaths have. Honestly, the pictures I've seen don't do the knife and sheath justice. I'm so glad I put this on my Christmas list!

  - I've been looking at this knife for a couple years and received it as a gift for christmas. To me it feels and looks like an old style mountain man knife. I carry it every day and use it often. I used Japanese water stones for sharpening and it holds a razors edge for a lot of use. Very happy to finally have this on my belt!

  - Absolutely love this knife! Feels great in the hand. The blade is robust and feels like it could take a beating. The craftsmanship is what you expect from a Becker Ka-Bar, excellent! The spine is not sharp, so it's easier on your thumb when carving. Just don't expect it to throw a spark on a fero rod. Worth every penny in my opinion.
