The Red Spacer KA-BAR is arguably the most collectible KA-BAR Knife made during World War II. The distinct red spacer below the hand guard and above the leather washer has caught the eye of collectors for decades. Though originals are rare and expensive, KA-BAR’s State & Union shop has made a small batch of this iconic knife.
The leather washers are shaped by hand and dyed to create an aged appearance. The pommel is ground down to replicate the dimensions of the original. Each red spacer is hand made to be slightly longer than the current spacer used on KA-BAR Fighting/Utility Knives. The blade is worn blue finished. The sheath undergoes an ageing process to darken the leather and match the original sheath color.

Absolutely fantastic limited edition addition to the Kabar family. Balance was dead perfect. Sharp enough to shave, yes I did shave with it. Beautiful all around. Thicker than usual hilt is a fantastic change. Incredibly happy to have snagged one before they were gone.

Amazing, truly amazing. I feel blessed to own this. Every detail crafted perfectly and it feels like you are holding a piece of history. This would make my Grandma proud. I would give this 10 stars if I could, outstanding quality.

As a Marine ("once a Marine, always a Marine"), Ka-Bar knives have always held a special place in my heart. I have several different ones displayed in acrylic cases on my desk and had always had the "red spacer" WW-2 Ka-Bar on my bucket list to get. They are super expensive but more than that, I just couldn't find one in pristine condition. When this modern day "red spacer" Ka-Bars came out it wasn't even a question. I now have one on my desk accompanying the modern-day Medford and Hinderer Ka-Bars... but at a fraction of what I paid for those!

I have collected KABAR knives for 40 years. Out of the 25 or so I own , this is my new favorite. Well worth $50 over the standard knife. Well built and perfect. If you use it as a work knife, I suggest you buy an extra standard sheath. This will save the staple sheath, which is hard to find. You will be happy with this purchase. It is a great collector or working tool.

When I opened the box, I just wanna say "What's this?" The appearance of the product is different from the picture. In fact, I received a Ka-Bar with a black handle. It just adds a red gasket under the hand guard. The bottom is flat and there is no diagonal detail in the picture. Two stars because of the blade is as good as ever. The whole product is not as expected, it's a very disappointing shopping experience!

Perfection! Not sure how these folks are able to make something so good and timeless even better... but, they did.

Unreal knife. Love it.

I really like this Red Spacer Ka-bar! In my opinion it's true to picture. I"m glad to get my hands on one. It would be nice to know what # it is in the production run. I'm wondering if it's a limited edition and how many are going to be made. The 'battlewashed' blade looks great, love the larger guard too, it's a unique knife with the spacer and worn appearance. The only thing I would change is the sheath - instead of staples it would look more refined if rivets were used like on the standard sheaths. Overall happy with my purchase, has a huge fidget factor as I've got it on my coffee table and I keep playing with it. I have the Stone Ka-bar and the Medford Ka-bar as well...

Got mine and I absolutely love it. Perfect balance and great feel. Ad an ex marine who carried a KA-BAR during my time in the service feels right. Not a fan of the leather sheath however. I purchased the KA-BAR tactical sheath just to find out that the Red Spacers longer hand guards are not accommodated and do not fit. Would like to find a Molly adaptable sheath for it.

Incredible knife. It's easily understandable why the originals have the mystique and legend. This version is a beast. I bought it to have it. Just an impulse for the collectible aspect. Well I'm not gonna box this. The balance is on point. It's blade is sharp from the box (first Ka Bar I've gotten that came in the leather sheath, not separate in a cardboard one). The blade being cold gun blued, so legit. The handle has a great grip. I'm thinking it will obviously grip better after some use. The sheath is money. Leather, stitched, with heavy staples and a rivet. Very old school manufacturing and look. Not even needed but I hit it up with a quick sharpening. Damn. Well done Ka-Bar.
I wanted it to collect, but this knife was made to be used.

The knife came extremely dull and couldn't cut paper let alone anything else. The sheath is extremely small and cant fit unless forced in which makes it difficult to remove. Removing the knife from the shealth with one hand is pretty much impossible due to the tightness and makes it useless for belt mounting with is the only option for said sheath. 2 stars since it looks nice but for $225 it's pretty much a rip off as you can spend half that and get a sharp knife with a proper sized sheath from the same company. Online reveiws also show it is supposed to have a certificate of authenticity since this is allegedly a limited run but mine had nothing like that. Overall this is extremely disappointing and I'd recommend a normal ka-bar with the plastic sheath

More of a review of customer service than the knife itself. Bought this knife from a third party as a gift for my son in military camp. The finish rubbed off with honing solution and I made it worse trying to fix it myself. Contacted Ka-Bar who were very helpful and shipped it to them with provided prepaid shipping label to be fixed or replaced. UPS lost the package and before even taking care of the issue with UPS, Beth at customer support sent out a replacement even though I didn't buy it directly from them. Handsome knife, quality they stand by, and amazing customer service.
